ABOUT GRANDMASTER VAN DONK Richard Van Donk is proud to have been chosen as a direct student of the late Grandmaster Gilbert Tenio. It is the desire of DeCuerdas Eskrima Association as a division of the Bushindo Martial Arts University to help spread these teachings around the world through you and others in order to keep this and other Filipino martial arts alive. Yes, it is true the Filipino arts are rarely taught in it's home country anymore. We now have students in the Phillipines training with us. We have established the DeCuerdas teachings in a distant learning format as well as in the dojo and seminars so that more people will have a chance to learn this most effective blade art. In keeping with our philosophy of fostering good relations between all martial systems and styles, we willingly accept students from other Filipino schools and other martial disciplines as well to train with us in our school, come to camps or to purchase our study materials.
